I found this fairly dated 4x1 blazer at a thrift shop. At $6, I saw its potential so I decided to purchase it. I also ended up harvesting some horn buttons off a Polo Ralph Lauren Jacket for $5 at a different store. My plan was the re-position the jacket to a 4x2 stance. This would require a new button hole to be cut and the lapels to be repressed.
I then went to visit my tailor at Franco’s Tailoring in Lawrenceville NJ. I’ve been going to Franco ever since I bought my first suit over 2 years ago and have developed a very strong relationship with him since. Last we saw each other, I told him that I could shine his shoes so when I came into his shop, he had three pairs of italian made Santoni’s waiting for me.
When he saw the project I had in mind, he refused to charge me for the work. He was so grateful that I offered to shine his shoes, we worked out a barter arrangement. He swapped his services for mine. After a week, I came by, dropped off the freshly shined shoes, and picked up my latest thrifted blazer. Expect this bad boy to be worn all season long !
